What we do

At Our Dove House, we create a healing haven for young single mothers and their children. Here, women become “Pearls,” nurtured in a structured, healthy, and proactive environment, allowing families to shine. Our mission is to engage, uplift, and empower families by fostering a supportive, peaceful space where they can grow and thrive.

Our Support Services & Programs

Your generous donation provides single mothers and their children with the foundation they need for a better future. This includes critical skill sets, emotional support, career counseling, food, and shelter. With your help, Our Dove House will cultivate motivated, financially well-rounded women ready to provide a better life for themselves and their children. As a registered 501(c)(3) charity, all donations are tax-deductible.

HEALTH

We provide all necessary food at no cost to our Pearls and their children, along with resources to encourage healthy living. Activities are conducted by licensed and qualified social workers and counselors.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

We encourage Pearls to complete ongoing or previously incomplete education, providing access to resources and training to support their educational journey.

FINANCE

Financial fitness and freedom are key goals. Pearls will attend workshops and training on financial literacy. Our subsidized rent model helps Pearls achieve financial stability after their residency.

RECREATION

Pearls are required to participate in extracurricular activities to foster social and creative development alongside financial and professional growth.

Personal Development Plan

Each participant collaborates to create a customized self-improvement plan, including self-awareness, life skills, parenting, financial, educational, and job development strategies.

Pearls must complete all courses within a 36-month residency period.

Participants also complete courses in healthy eating, cooking, housekeeping, financial literacy, child development, parenting, and relationship development, through a blend of home visits, workshops, educational courses, local field trips, and unique events, Pearls are exposed to various industries and guided in pursuing their hobbies, creating a balanced, healthy, and full lifestyle.

Pearls will be required to meet course work benchwork requirements and weekly requirements, to include:

Meet with counselors weekly

Adhere to a self-improvement plan

Plan and cook meals at least once a week

Eat with family at least once a week

Engage in one family activity weekly

Clean individual and general spaces

Attend financial literacy classes
